Liquid of Life becomes a sponsor of the FM Expo
An Air-to-Water system will be installed at DWTC, between May 17-19
Liquid of Life is the Sustainable Water Sponsor for the sixth FM Expo 2011.
The company produces a system that extracts humidity from the air and creates fresh drinking water - and one of the systems will be in use during the Expo at the Dubai World Trade Centre, between May 17-19.
"The FM Expo 2011 is a great platform to meet key influencers who are shaping sustainability in the region and to explore business opportunities,” said Rukhsana Kausar, founding partner, Liquid of Life.
“It will help us reach out to a larger audience and create awareness about environmentally friendly ways of generating fantastic drinking water, as well as discussing some of our existing projects.
"Furthermore, we intend to raise awareness on the harmful effects of plastic bottled drinking water on the environment and our health. With our filtration units and Air-to- water systems we aim to set new benchmarks for cost effective, high quality, sustainable drinking water in the region."
According to Liquid of Life, every resident in the UAE consumes an estimated average of 970 litres of water a day, one of the highest rates of water use in the world, and the demand is growing at a rate of 10% per annum. Ground water reserves are scarce and most of the fresh water comes from desalination plants - an expensive and energy intensive process.
The process of converting atmospheric humidity into drinking water is similar to the way rain is formed. Air-to-Water systems draw in the surrounding air through an air filter removing airborne impurities.
The atmospheric humidity is condensed to pure water, which is passed through a filtration system, UV filter and a mineral filter to provide fresh, pure, healthy drinking water.
