HD security system installed at Saudi airport
Avigilon system to allow evidence retrieval at 'phenomenal speeds'
A total of 274 high definition (HD) cameras have been implemented at Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz International Airport as part of a new security measure.
The system, produced by Avigilon includes cameras ranging from 1 megapixel to 16 megapixel.
Adel Safadi, manager CCTV & Video Analytics Systems at Al Musbah Trading Group, who is responsible for the Avigilon HD surveillance system at KAIA, explained that the cameras would be streamed and monitored 24/7 using HD stream management.
“The Avigilon HD surveillance system gives us the tools to effectively review and take appropriate action as quickly as possible to resolve conflicts and secure parking lots, terminal lobbies, duty free shops, restaurants, retail market, and coffee shops,” he said.
He also added that the new system would allow the airport security team to “retrieve superior evidence at phenomenal speeds.”
