Companies express confidence in MEFMA course
Course attendance suggests FM companies keen to develop staff
MEFMA’s third ‘Foundation in FM’ course successfully kicked off this week, with numbers demonstrating just how keen FM companies are to develop their staff.
The course is pitched at both new and established members of the industry, and aims to be either an introduction into what FM entails in the Middle East, or a refresher, with the ultimate aim of developing attendees into leaders and managers.
But how did the course differ from training that employees receive when they join an FM company? Millin, head of Technical Services, Mace Macro, said: “Companies will provide training according to what the business needs are at the time. This course has been put together by the industry, for the industry. It is about development on a personal level, and tackles those areas that a company’s induction training might not cover.”
The course is split over five days and provides delegates with an introduction to operations and maintenance as well as covering project management, finance and business essentials, sustainable FM and leadership and strategy.
On average, there are around 20-25 candidates at each course.
“For me it’s really refreshing that all these different companies are sending their staff on the courses and to see them committing their resources to the training. It shows a growing confidence in both MEFMA and the industry,” said Millin.
