Young FM award added to EFS' bag of wins
Mahmoud Mawed named Young FM of the Year at 5th annual awards ceremony
Mahmoud Mawed of EFS Facilities Services picked up the award for Young Facilities Manager of the Year at last night’s Facilities Management Middle East Awards.
The company’s third win of the evening, and in one of the most hotly contended categories, saw Mawed beat off competition from two of Mace Macro’s candidates, an Emaar entry, and Khidmah’s Ryan Darnell who was highly commended by the judges.
The last year has seen 27 year old Mawed manage the company’s first FM project in Al Ain, comprising 647 mosques which span across an area of 500ha. Judges said Mawed has proven exceptional leadership, showing he knows the capability and capacity of each of his team members in mobilising them effectively for this project.
“I feel very glad for my win and for the company [and] what the company has done for me. They built me up very well in knowledge and education and experience." said Mawed.
This was also Mawed's third win this week, as he was awarded his Masters in FM with distinction from Heriot Watt University and an IFMA certificate.
"I will now go for my PhD and I am already preparing my proposal for it. When I’m 30, I want to be a general manager. I’m working for one project with DREC (Dubai Real Estate Corporation) comprising 25 residential buildings and more than 3,000 apartments," he added.
EFS’ Facilities Services also picked up the award for MEP Company of the Year and Overall FM Company of the Year for the second consecutive year.
