Fikra launches mobile LED lighting testing lab
Strength and efficiency of LEDs will be tested in Jordan
Fikra has launched a mobile LED lighting solutions testing lab in Jordan - the first of its kind in the Kingdom.
The facility will use the latest technology to test the strength and efficiency of LED lights of all sizes and typology on demand and will be operated by a team of specialists.
Mamoun Mashouka, Fikra's CEO said the testing lab has been launched as part of the company's aims to reach its clients and all users of LED energy-efficient lighting, and providing value added services.
The technology utilised by the lab measures the amount of energy consumed and saved by the LED lights tested, which the firm hopes will increase the popularity and spread of LED lighting.
Mashouka added that new service will also help to change misconceptions of customer service efficiency in general, and service efficiency regarding lighting testing and maintenance in particular.
Honeywell's global product and business development director for LED Lighting, John Storey, said in an interview with Facilities Management Middle East that the biggest development in the industry is the onset of LED technology.
“It’s a dramatic transformation that’s unfolding within lighting. It’s often been compared to the change from gas lighting to electric lighting – it’s that fundamental. It’s really fascinating because it’s turning the industry upside-down. All the old rules are being challenged,” he said.
