Tadweer to process Dubai eGovernment waste
Recycling & environmental services for Dubai eGovernment by Tadweer
Dubai eGovernment signed an agreement with Tadweer Waste Treatments (Tadweer) for waste segregation and processing.
Dubai eGovernment has launched an internal initiative - placing two types of recycle bins within its premises, one for waste paper and the other for metal and plastics. The assigned division in Dubai eGovernment will collect the waste every week and send it to Tadweer.
To assess the effectiveness of the initiative over a period of time, Tadweer will be submitting a monthly report to Dubai eGovernment, indicating the waste quantities that have been recycled and processed for reuse.
Saeed Hussein Ahli, director of corporate support services, Dubai eGovernment, said: "Through this initiative, we look forward to raising greater employee awareness on environmental issues, as this should be a key evaluation criterion and prerequisite for both government and private sectors.
"The environmental component has become widely recognised and we are strongly committed to supporting the environmental policy adopted by our leaders in the UAE, while also creating a highly professional working atmosphere for our employees.
This is in line with the Dubai Government Human Resources Management Law and will contribute to environmental protection and ultimately turn Dubai into a green community."
This move is part of the department's CSR programme under the theme "Together to protect the environment".
