Macro Intl, World Security & Bee'ah in repeat wins
EFS Facilities Services, Khidmah and TerraVerde also win a second time
It was a night of consecutive wins at the facilities management Middle East Awards 2013, with six companies securing repeat wins in the same categories as last year.
Macro International picked up the FM Consultancy Award for the sixth year in a row, while World Security and Bee’ah picked up the awards for Security Company of the Year and; Sanitation and Waste Management Company of the Year, respectively, for a third year running.
EFS Facilities Services and Khidmah won MEP Company of the Year, and, Innovative Use of IT in FM, respectively, for the second consecutive time, with TerraVerde nabbing the Landscaping Company of the Year again after its win last year.
Macro International's founder and managing director, Bill Heath, who last year said he hoped "it'll be six in a row next year" was not disappointed.
He said: "It always feels good, no matter how many times you win. This goes to show we are not complacent and that we always strive to be better. We always rise to the next challenge and hopefully, seventh year running, we will be around the corner." The judges were impressed with Macro's client testimonials, and stated that the firm has “helped transform the region’s view on FM.”
EFS Facilities Services' Mahmoud Mawed, operations manager (and last year's Young FM of the Year winner), said: "This is not the first time [we won], and it will not be the last time of course. This [award] means that we doing very well and are continuing our good work."
Mahmood Mohd. Amin, CEO of PCFC Security & World Security praised his team for the firm's repeat wins. He said: "The team work, the family bond and all of us working hand in hand is what makes the company successful and that is why the company is getting awards year by year." Judges said World Security "rises to challenges every day and meets them consistently and professionally" and "beats the competition…"
Khidmah's second win in the Innovative use of IT in FM award was collected by senior services manager Eddie Loughrey, who said: "We won this award before and we continue to invest and innovate and try to get better and better all of the time."
Nehme Mouajess, managing director, TerraVerde, who collected the Lanscaping Company of the Year award, said: "Every year we are looking to do more and more to keep up things for a better future."
Picking up the title for Sanitation and Waste Management Company of the Year, Khaled Al Huraimel, group CEO of Bee’ah, said winning the award again showed the company is on the right track. "Also, it helps show the region that a UAE company can achieve world best practices and lead the region.”
The awards were among 14 presented on the night to honour, reward and recognise the achievements of the FM industry over the last year.
