DEWA reveals programme for Green Week
The community initiative will run from the 21-26 April 2015, and will include WETEX 2015, the second World Green Economy Summit and Arab Oil and Gas exhibition.
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced the programme of the second Green Week, which will run from the 21 – 26 April 2015.
In addition to a number of community-focused environmental activities, several events are planned over the course of the week. This includes the 17th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2015), the second World Green Economy Summit, and Arab Oil and Gas exhibition.
“Green Week reflects DEWA’s efforts to enhance sustainability and sensible use of resources among all society. Building on last year’s success, we have added more diverse activities to this year’s programme,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
Over the course of the week, the community initiative will host a number of seminars and activities related to sustainability and green economy. This includes the hosting of the Antarctica art gallery and the presence of a dedicated stand that will post job opportunities and will feature competitions related to the environment.
DEWA is also expected to announce the launch of certified training sessions on sustainability through its academy. Additionally, the government entity will continue its Green Ribbon pledge campaign and will organise competitions for the public. DEWA will set up a dedicated booth in Hall number 4 at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre for Green Week.
