DEWA wins four awards DGEP 2015
The awards were presented by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Rule of Dubai.
Recognised for its successful practices and performances, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received four awards during the 18th Dubai Government Excellence Programme Awards (DGEP). The awards were presented by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
DEWA was awarded the Distinguished Technical Project award for the first phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The existing 13MW plant, which became operational in 2013, will be further bolstered with the completion of the second phase, with an added capacity of 200MW. The second phase is expected to roll out by 2017.
Two of DEWA’s staff, Hana Al Balooshi and Othman Shah Zarin Shah, won Distinguished Female Employee and the Unknown Soldier Award, respectively. The government entity also received recognition for organising then UAE’s Earth Hour and spreading awareness on energy conservation.
