DEWA awarded ISO for IT service management system
The ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 certification was awarded following a series of monitoring and evaluation processes, and audits conducted by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance and Lloyd’s Register Group Limited.
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that it has been awarded the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 certification.
Based on the third edition of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library framework in IT service management system, the certification is a globally recognised standard for IT services.
The audit and evaluation process was conducted by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance and Lloyd’s Register Group Limited.
“Winning the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 underlines our commitment to implement the highest international standards in IT Service Management and our continuous efforts to adopt effective and advanced systems in all our departments and divisions,” commented Moza Al Akraf, Acting CIO of DEWA.”
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of DEWA, added: “This covers technical application management, service analysis, design and development, and actual launch of quality and excellent services to make customers happier and more satisfied.”
DEWA’s IT division was previously awarded the ISO/IEC 27001, a certification for information security management. The team also won Best m-Government Service Award in the environmental sector at the Government Summit held on 8 February, 2015.
