Empower engages UAE students with summer programme
Targeting UAE university students, Empower is providing the nation’s youth the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the district cooling industry
Empower, a district cooling service provider, has announced the launch of a training programme targeting UAE university students.
Set to run until August 27, the programme will familiarise students with the management and operations of the district cooling industry.
Commenting on the programme, HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said: "We want to support the district cooling industry in the UAE through all possible means.
"By engaging students in the process, we seek to generate interest that could encourage them to consider this sector fora potential career."
Accommodating up to ten students within the programme, Empower will provide training across a number of the company’s key operations. The programme will include site visits to major cooling plants across Dubai, as well as the company’s headquarters.
"These trainees could turn to become suitable candidates to growthis industry. We have selected students from renowned colleges like Higher Colleges of Technology, University of Nottingham, American University in the Emirates, and International School of Arts & Sciences," shared Bin Shafar.
"This training programme could bring new innovative ideas to the district cooling industry," he concluded.
To date, Empower operates more than 1mn refrigerated tonnes of district cooling and oversees a number of large-scale real estate developments. These include Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence and Dubai Design District.
