Tricon CX System Launched for high-risk industries
Schneider Electric’s compact safety system is designed to better manage risks in high-hazard industrial processes.
Global energy management and automation firm Schneider Electric recently announced the launch of its TriconCX compact safety system.
The certified ISA Secure system oversees critical control applications in industries where constant and reliable operation is vital. These include oil and gas, power refining, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
Tricon CX, the latest addition to Schneider Electric’s Triconex line of safety systems, is more compact and powerful than previous iterations. It comes equipped with an array of new features, which include a reduced form factor of 50%, fast analogue inputs with integrated HART, and a 300% increase in controller tag capacity.
Mike Chmilewski, vice president, process systems offer management, Schneider Electric process automation business shared: “Safety and security have always been a top concern for our industrial clients, but now new threats, such as cyber-attack, have challenged the traditional approaches they have taken to protect and secure their people, property, communities and the environment.”
He added: “Our high-performance, future-proof Tricon CX safety system does just that. With more performance and capability, it can help clients maximize productivity, reliability and security while minimizing risks and the likelihood of business interruption.”
The Triconex range of safety systems are based on Triple Modular Redundancy technology, and are designed to enable safe operations by maximising compliance to mandated safety regulation. The systems improve operational efficiency, helping clients to realise improvements to production availability, asset uptime and ROI.
