Oman's Gulf Hotels to start renovation programme in 2018
The renovation project will be carried out between May 2018 and August 2018, according to the company that reportedly owns and operates Crowne Plaza Hotel in Muscat
Listed Omani outfit, Gulf Hotels, announced a renovation programme due to commence next year.
According to H1 2017 financials posted by the company this July, Gulf Hotels owns and operates the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Muscat.
A preliminary renovation design plan covering the property's porte-cochère, lobby, entrance area, reception area, restaurant, and swimming pool has been approved by Gulf Hotels' board.
The project will be carried out between May and August, 2018.
Construction activity during the three-month period will entail the hotel's closure.
In a missive issued to the Muscat bourse, Gulf Hotels added: "In view of the proposed closure of the hotel, the total revenue and the profitability of the company would be impacted in the year 2018.
"However the hotel would benefit from the renovation in the long term."
