ServeU FM wants to double company roster
ServeU currently employs close to 5,000 staff, and the company plans to double that number in the next couple years
ServeU FM – a unit of Union Properties – is harbouring plans of growth and has set aside a dedicated strategy that it hopes to fork out over the next 24 months to 30 months.
The company recently - six months ago - appointed Sohail Ausaf as both CFO and COO to lead the company through the restructuring phase.
“I stepped into a hot plate as the company is in the midst of restructuring and re-branding. We have engaged a lot of consultants to look at both short-term and long-term strategies,” he told fmME.
Ausaf described the FM company has charted an aggressive growth plan that will materialise over the next two-odd years.
“Our goal remains to gain a better share of the FM market, within and outside the UAE. We have aggressive plans over the next two-and-a-half years,” he added.
ServeU currently employs close to 5,000 staff, and Ausaf said that number is set to double. “With the plans we have on horizon, we would like to see that number of staff double over the next two years to three years. That is the scale of our strategy at the moment,” Ausaf affirmed.
In terms of growth, ServeU is looking to get a strong foothold within the UAE, “Abu Dhabi and the eastern region”, Ausaf says before the firm looks at transcending borders and entering the FM market in Saudi Arabia.
He also gave more insight into the renewed strategy and plans. “Traditionally, Serve U has been big in the IFM space. But we haven't previously identified which markets we would like to grow, so more recently felt that the MEP market is something that we need to focus on, along with the energy management sector. In addition, we are also going to focus on high-rise cleaning on the soft side.
“Primarily, our focus is on the internal processes and capabilities. We would like to have a very solid foundation so that we could build on it and develop ourselves to take on bigger challenges,” he told fmME.
ServeU’s list of existing clients include Union Properties, Dubai Airport, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Noor Bank and, “several five-star hotels including the likes of the Sheraton,” Ausaf added.
