Uber and Averda to collect e-waste from 11 freezones for free
Building on last year’s success, eCycleDubai is aiming to better its collection figures from last year
On June 20 and 21, a total of 11 business parks in Dubai will initiate an e-waste collection drive.
Volunteers can request for ‘UberRECYCLE’ through the Uber UAE mobile application between 10am and 4pm on both days.
Partner drivers will then head to the specified location to collect your e-waste.
I'm backing the #eCycleDubai campaign launched by @Uber_UAE, @averda, @DIC_Community and @DxbSciencePark that will help collect e-waste responsibly and hassle free. The #eCycleDubai initiative has witnessed the coming together of Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Science Park, in association with Uber and Averda to collect and safely recycle used and unwanted electronics.
Uber partner drivers will be available to pick-up the e-waste for free in Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Knowledge Park, Dubai Science Park, Dubai Studio City, Dubai International Academic City, Dubai Outsource City, Dubai Production City, Dubai Industrial City, Dubai Design District, Dubai Wholesale City.
Last year, the campaign resulted in the collection of two tonnes of e-waste.
The organisers hope to improve on those figures with this year’s collection, which will keep e-waste out of Dubai landfills.
