Abu Dhabi to build two markets worth AED51mn
New developments to be constructed in Mohammed bin Zayed City and a service station at Al Shawamekh
Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) has signed two agreements with property developers to construct a community market and service station in Abu Dhabi’s Mohammed bin Zayed City, and Al Shawamekth city respectively.
Florida Property Development Company will undertake the construction of a service station for residential districts at Al Shawamkeh.
While Tristar Engineering will look after the development of the community market.
ADM general manager HE Saif Badr Al Qubaisi said: “These two projects are part of a full package of integrated projects and service facilities the Municipality is intending to undertake in implementation of the vision of Abu Dhabi Government.
“The Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities – Abu Dhabi City Municipality is keen on cementing the relationships with the private sector, attract investments, improve services and introduce modern service facilities. The Municipality will continue with its partners in the private sector the construction of investment, recreational and service project that bringing happiness to people such as Al Maqta Canal, highway rest areas, and service stations among other services improving the quality of life.”
The contract provides for the construction and operation of a community market in collaboration with the private sector.
The market comprises retail outlets, community facilities, government service counters for residential districts.
The agreement calls for Musataha and operation for 30 years after two years for construction. The operation of the market is set to start in the final quarter of 2020.
The Al Shawamekh city service station will be developed and operated with the private sector and offer a diverse cast of maintenance services that cover carpentry, repair services for household appliances, plumbing, electricity and air conditioning services, tire and auto parts trading, car repair and washing services amongst others.
The station is expected to start operation in the third quarter of 2021.
