Khansaheb FM went past the 1,000 employee mark in 2018 and the firm currently employs 1,100 total staff. Revenues nearly doubled for 2018 — 6.1%, Khansaheb FM had achieved 3.5% increase in revenues for 2017.
Contract retention within Khansaheb Group FM (KGFM) is high with more than 90% of expiring contracts renewed during the course of the year. The firm also managed to successfully win ew work in 2018 both in the retail and government sectors.
Major contracts for 2018 include a retail distributor with over 800 outlets, the Armed Forces / Officers Club, Serenia Residences The Palm Jumeirah and additional works for Musanada.
Peltenburg says: “In several of our projects we are working with like-minded organisations that believe that FM is fundamental to their business and more importantly to their long-term budget. Therefore, we are working closely within governmental and defense agencies to identify new ways of working and adding value in innovation, training and partnership.”
She also stressed on the importance of Khansaheb’s staff, and training initiatives. “The focus on 2018 and beyond is on new training initiatives and accreditations not necessarily for the organisation, but for its people. All FM managers, for instance, will require an accreditation now and in the future if they want to work with Khansaheb Group.”
Hence KGFM invested significantly in training for its FM managers, supervisors as well as opened a new training academy in Abu Dhabi.
“This provides not only the knowledge that one should have, but the confidence to communicate at a high level,” Peltenburg notes.
In terms of challenges, the biggest one being faced by the company is to balance investment with price. She says the market is extremely price-sensitive with a small percentage who communicate the importance of FM. “However there is a long way to go in procurement to truly understand that the lowest price doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best for their business.”
