Alain El Tawil
Alain El Tawil, the founder and managing partner of Grako, has managed to steer his company from strength to strength. A healthy double digit year-on-year growth is a result of the company’s operational brilliance.
Today, Grako has a lion’s share of contracts in the high access cleaning space. El Tawil remains assured in the fact that Grako is the only firm in high-level cleaning sector with an impressive list of clients and for the longevity it has been providing services at sites.
Most notably, Grako has been involved in the rope-access cleaning and maintenance of the Burj Khalifa — last year it was also involved in the installation of the LED lights for the New Year’s Eve lightshow. That opened up new avenues for Grako as it saw a new business opportunity in the ‘beautification’ of buildings.
In an October interview with fmME, El Tawil spoke about the increase in the number of property and asset managers who have opted to fit their towers and complexes with LED lights, which has helped them increase asset value, El Tawil told fmME.
Such has been Grako’s success that it attracted a massive shareholder investment from Abu-Dhabi-based NCC Group. The new arrangement will also enable Grako to have access to new accounts in Abu Dhabi in the civil landscape as well as in the oil and gas industries.
El Tawil is also an active member of the Middle East’s Rope Access Regional Advisory Council (RAC) and is involved with clients and other industry leaders to promote the importance of quality and HSE when working at heights hoping to elevate the region’s FM reputation for being that of a first-class.
