Following another strong year for Cofely Besix Facility Management (CBFM) under the leadership of its pragmatic CEO Ian Harfield, the firm has moved up a spot in this year’s listing. The move comes as a result of CBFM’s contract wins and the level of expertise it has shown in energy performance and management on client sites.
The firm has also managed to increase its turnover by 15% from 2017 and received a host of accreditations and awards. To date, 2018 has been a positive year for CBFM with a forecasted growth of 15% on turnover. At this stage 90% of the revenue is secured, and 10% is due for formal instruction in the remaining weeks.
Speaking more about work winning, CBFM considers itself “extremely fortunate” to be awarded 17 new contracts within the UAE, two in Oman and nine in other GCC countries between January 2018 and November 2018. These include a variety of clients and CBFM is providing specialist services for them. For instance, CBFM is involved in the maintenance of the famous Fountains Lake bed at Dubai Mall. The firm is also involved in the infrastructure support and improvement works of the Shams Dubai project.
As a result staff numbers have gone by 12% — from 2,059 employees in 2017 to 2,307 staff in 2018. Harfield says: “The biggest opportunity for growth over the next 12 months, would be to continue to extend our reach into the aviation, infrastructure, energy and transport sectors. We view these sectors as significant growth areas in the region, and in anticipation of this, we have developed and launched a dedicated team to drive these focus areas in our business model.”
