On the human capital front, we have recently concluded employee appraisals and recognitions. We are in the midst of our annual sports events spread over a 3-month period, which gives a welcome break to all our employees to participate across various group and individual sports.
How is the FM market in terms of challenges and opportunities?
The FM market will continue to face seen and unforeseen challenges and opportunities going forward at an increasing rate. The recent COVID-19 is an example of both a challenge (limited availability of qualified manpower, supplies, PPE and chemicals) and an opportunity (sanitisation works, manpower training, increased focus on PPM in cleaning contracts, etc.)
Challenges in sourcing qualified manpower, employee retention, increased competition, cost pressures and price wars will continue to impact the existing suppliers and customers.
However, this also presents opportunities for established players and mature customers to focus on improving service quality, global benchmarking, involving FM at design stage, increased focus on automation and AI, ethical and responsible sourcing, energy management and conservation.
Additionally, the continued regional focus on tourism, retail and infrastructure development in line with the country-specific vision plans provides a visible pipeline of new real assets to be serviced by the FM industry.
