fmME delves below corporate strategy to understand what makes the region’s FM professionals tick
What does your role involve?
I head the business of our CAFM solutions in the GCC and I’m responsible for business expansion in the region. I handle projects, brand positioning and client support and satisfaction. Additionally I am also heading the new product development team based in our development centre, India.
What do you love about your job?
That would have to be working along with new product development teams, which gives me a sense of ‘what next?’. I am glad to have a team that’s passionate about software development, exploring and delivering on new ideas, and keep updated on future trends. In a short span of two years our team was able to introduce seven new products within the CAFM space.
Your most memorable project?
Leading the development of mobility solutions allowed me to closely interact with on-field staff, supervisors, management team and software developers. Combining the needs and objectives of various stake holders and providing a practical solution has been memorable experience so far.
What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
Diverse client requirements, helping the client to understand the necessity of technology to manage their business and operations, bringing them up to speed with industry best standards, processes and customising the solution to meet their specific business needs are some of the most challenging parts of my day-to-day job.
Where do you see the FM industry in the next 5 years?
The rise of technology driven processes; increase in the usage of IoT (Internet of Things), big data, integration capabilities between software systems; and easily accessible cloud services cutting down costs. We expect significant transformation of the FM industry which will witness increased user participation.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I love to cook and the kitchen is my favourite place. I am always looking for new recipes and cuisines to try out, keeping my family entertained along the way.
