BASF names new VP for Middle East and Egypt
Udo Huenger entrusted with expanding on BASF’s regional stronghold
Chemical manufacturer BASF appointed Dr Udo Huenger as the new vice president for operations in the Middle East and Egypt. He will be based at BASF’s regional headquarters in Dubai, UAE.
In more than a decade of experience with the company, Dr Huenger has held several leadership positions, most recently as director of Refining Catalysts for Europe and the Middle East.
Dr Markus Kramer, president of Europe, Middle East, and Africa at BASF SE, said: “Dr Udo has a keen understanding of the region and our business that spans almost every industry in the Middle East. We are confident he will add significant value in spearheading our next phase of growth in the region.”
BASF has been active in the region for over a century with offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Khobar, Cairo, and Tehran.
In addition, it runs a polyurethane system house in Dubai, a state-of-the-art production facility for customer-specific antioxidant blends (CSB) in Bahrain, and production sites for construction chemicals in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and Oman.
